A word game to play with family over a video call.
When the family is spread across a few houses at Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year, Konsa gives everyone the same eight letter cards. Keep the call open, open a table, and play from your phones. 2–6 players, no sign-up, about 20 minutes.
Use the letters you see. Add any you need.
Someone starts a table.
Type a name, start a table, and send the link in the family chat. Everyone joins from their own phone or laptop, in any browser.
Play a round.
Everyone builds a word from the same eight cards. Any letters go; only the cards score. The first word locked in starts a 30-second timer for everyone else.
Seven rounds, then a rematch.
Your best five words plus bonuses make your total, and equal totals share the win. Rematch with whoever is still around.
Questions
Does Konsa have video or voice?
No. Keep your usual call open in another app or on another device; Konsa only needs a browser tab.
Is it fair for younger and older players together?
Everyone sees the same cards, and short words score too: a short word on the 5-point cards can outscore a long one on the 2-point cards. Names and abbreviations are an honor-system matter.
Can we play across time zones later?
Yes. The Daily Duel gives everyone the same three boards for the day, one attempt each, and a challenge link to compare words when you’ve both finished.
What if someone’s connection drops?
Their seat stays at the table and their missed rounds score zero; when they come back in the same browser, they’re back in their seat.
Same cards, different kitchens.
One person opens a table, everyone else taps a link, and the family is at one table again for seven rounds. Save the rematch for after dessert.
